| Razor tape wire is is a mesh of metal strips with sharp edges whose purpose is to prevent passage by humans. The sharp edges of the wire can cause serious cuts in a person attempting to pass through quickly. In high security applications, barbed tape supplanted barbed wire which could be circumvented relatively quickly by humans without tools. Getting past razor wire without tools is considerably slower, giving security forces more time to respond. The Razor tape wire usually to be used like Concertina type or Straight type or mesh type.
